PODCAST | Navigating Trauma and Mental Health

News and information from the Advent IM team.

🎙️ New Podcast Episode Alert! 🎙️

In this episode, we’re diving deep into the essential topic of mental health and support for our armed forces and ex-armed forces with Paul Minter from Head Up Charity. In the 2 Part podcast, alongside the conversation of mental health, we explore different forms of trauma and share valuable insights on how to manage it, and how to offer a helping hand to anyone who has experienced trauma, in particular childhood trauma with Kharina Kharran.

After 18 years of service in the Army, with 5 frontline tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, Paul Minter joined us to talk about his own experience when medically discharged due to PTSD in November 2020. After self-treating with multiple good daily habits, Paul started to help others and eventually set up a full not for profit charity with other veterans to help more people in the Armed Forces Community. To kick start the charity with awareness and funding Paul set a new world record running 5,000 miles around the coastline of the UK in 7 months, averaging 30 miles a day!

Paul is now the CEO of Head Up Charity, delivering positive mindset training and setting up a residual retreat for veterans.
